In memory of Lizzie
08/08/1973 – 16/05/2018
We very sadly lost our dear colleague and friend Elizabeth Arakapiotis in May 2018. Elizabeth was an integral part of Kallis & Co and played a prominent role in the establishment and continued success of our firm.
Following her studies at university in Bristol, Elizabeth joined Kallis and Company in May 1995, undertaking on the job training and worked toward both her ACCA and JIEB qualifications. Elizabeth successfully achieved membership of the ACCA in 1999 and then the Association of Business Recovery Professionals in 2002 to become a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner. She became a partner in 2003 at the tender age of 30.
Elizabeth advised and helped countless directors, debtors and bankrupts over her 23 years in the profession. Her strength was her innate ability to assess the facts, extract the relevant information and recommend the best strategy for each situation seamlessly. She took great pride in her work. Her technical expertise and straight talking nature meant she was able to deliver complex financial advice in a simple, straightforward manner.
Lizzie, as she was known to all her colleagues and clients, was the backbone of the office. She will be fondly remembered for her beaming smile and the enthusiasm that she brought with her to the office every day of the week. With an eye for detail like no other, Lizzie had overall responsibility for the firm’s caseload management. She also took great satisfaction in working closely with the team to maintain the evolution of the firm’s systems and procedures to keep up to date with the latest legal developments.
Life as an Insolvency Practitioner sends across many hurdles, challenges and unfamiliar situations. For us all at Kallis & Company, having Lizzie by our side was a blessing. No matter what issue arose, Lizzie knew the right answer or exactly what needed to be done to get to it. She was a unique mentor, always prepared to give a helping hand and words of encouragement. This approach meant her decades of experience, technical ability and clarity of thought have rubbed off on all those who had the opportunity to work with her.
A caring and beloved family woman and mother, a cherished partner, colleague and friend, Lizzie will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
